  • What is fogging?
Fogging uses an antiviral disinfectant solution (to BS EN14476 standard) to clean and entirely sanitise a selected area. Fogging is extremely effective in killing off all pathogens and viruses such as COVID-19, as well as other biological agents. Fogging is a long established and recognised method of disinfecting entire spaces, including but not limited to: furnishings, walls, doors, tables, desks and handles. Fogging involves spraying a very fine mist which sits on the surfaces and evaporates within 30 minutes. As the mist is exceptionally fine, it is safe to use around all electronic equipment such as computers, laptops, monitors and printers. 99.9% of bacteria, pathogens and viruses will be destroyed once fogging has commenced. This is achieved through trained specialists and ensuring there is sufficient dwell time, so the disinfectant is effective. Due to fine cloud created by the machine, the disinfectant cloud is able to get into the smallest of spaces to ensure everywhere is left safe.
  • Who is fogging suitable for?
It is important to remember fogging is a very quick and safe way of completely disinfecting areas. We think this is particularly beneficial for buildings which have frequent visitors to their premises, whether this be permanent employees or customers. A few of the main sectors we work with are: Offices Schools Gyms & fitness studio Pubs, bars & restaurants Hair & beauty salons Local businesses
  • What does the fogging process look like?
For more information on how foggin works, please visit the how it works page.
  • How regularly should we decontaminate?
How long is a piece of string? This is entirely up to you and will require your judgement on the levels of risk associated with the people using your building. For offices, schools and shared working spaces we recommend a complete disinfectant every week. However, 2 weeks can be sufficient if operating at a much lower capacity but we certainly wouldn’t recommend going longer than a month.

  • How long will it take to clean my building?
Unfortunately there is no straightforward answer to this as all building have different setups. For example and empty office with limited desks and chairs would take far less time than a full office with lots of surfaces requiring disinfecting. However, a good rule of thumb is it usually takes around 1 hour to fog 500 square feet.
  • Do I need fogging?
Disinfection services will play a huge role in ensuring COVID-19 and other viruses are eliminated from your premises. The consequences of a staff member getting COVID-19 and the whole premises having to be shut down can equate to 1000s of pounds in lost revenue. It is likely that you have cleaners who undergo regular cleaning tasks. But controlling a highly infectious virus causing a pandemic requires a higher level of expertise and control measures. These should only be provided by professional services. Fogging provides an effective way of killing airborne pathogens and disinfecting larger areas that require fast re-renty. The droplets from the machine settle on and underneath surfaces enabling them to disinfect hard to reach areas that deep cleaning wouldn’t normally reach.
  • What do I need to do?
Nothing, let us handle everything. The only thing we require is that you ensure you can gain access to the premises. We will specify how long we will need at the premises before hand, so please ensure nobody enters the premises during the cleaning time.
  • Will I have to close the whole building?
Not at all - we ensure the rooms we are operating in are sealed. We will put up signage to prevent people entering the room whilst fogging as well as using temporary fire alarm and ventilation coverings to ensure the fog is contained within the designated area.
  • Can I leave electronic equipment in the area being fogged?
Yes it is safe for all electronic equipment to be left in their usual homes without the need for them to be covered up. The fogging machines which we use are V500 and have a range of settings which determine the size of the particles emitted from the machine. The size of a particle is measured in microns and the V500 can range from 9µm-35µm. 12µm is considered safe for use around electrical equipment due to the size and moisture of the particles being extremely small. In fact, these particles are smaller than water molecules in an office with average humidity.
  • When can I return to the building?
We usually advise the disinfectant is allowed 6 hours to fully drop. Realistically the drop time on all our solutions is 2 hours, should you need to get in sooner. We operate 24/7 so will always be able to accommodate a time most suitable for you, whether this is 4pm on Sunday afternoon for offices or 2am on Monday morning for restaurants.
  • Why do you wear PPE?
Whilst all the disinfectants we use are safe when applied in fog or mist form - they can be harmful if spilt. The safety of our employees in priority and providing them with the appropriate PPE in accordance with guidelines protects them against accidents such as: chemical burns, splash back to eyes and respiratory issues.
  • Does it stain surfaces?
No, all disinfectants that we use are completely invisible and leave no stains or residue on surfaces.
